The Choicelunch side bags has a label with the child's name, grade, (class if there are multiple classes per grade at a school), and date of the lunch. In addition, the contents are listed on the label. The label is what we use to pack the bags on a daily basis.
For example, it will say "2-Organic Chocolate Milk". This tells the employee that Bin 2 is where they will pull the Organic Chocolate Milk.
The bags are all filled the night before and placed in school tubs that are barcoded for each individual school. These tubs are then left in refrigeration overnight to allow for appropriate storage. In the morning, we scan the tubs into the school-specific cold transport containers that will take the bags to each individual school safely.
While we've invested a lot of time and technology to build a system to eliminate human error, we recognize that it can still enter the picture.
