Ordering Lunches, Deadlines & Cancellations
This article explains how to place a lunch order, important ordering deadlines, cancellation rules, and what to expect if you miss a deadline.
How to Place a Lunch Order
You can place lunch orders through the Choicelunch app or website.
Step 1: Select Your Student(s)
In the Lunchbox, you’ll see your student's names in the lower left corner.
To order for multiple students, keep all names selected.
To order for one student, deselect the others so you’re viewing a single menu.
Step 2: Choose a Date
Click or tap the date you want to place an order for.
Step 3: Select an Entrée and Meal Size
Choose the entrée, then select a meal size:
Regular: Typically appropriate for K–5 students
Large: Generally recommended for 6th grade and up
Step 4: Add Sides and Drinks
Add sides, drinks, fruit, or vegetables to complete the meal.
Step 5: Review and Place Your Order
Review your selections and select Place Order.
Your order will be confirmed once it is submitted.
Repeat an Order
After placing an order, you’ll have the option to repeat the same order on other available dates.
Ordering Deadlines
Standard Ordering (Full Menu)
The full menu is available until 9:00 AM the day before lunch is served.
Examples:
Order by 9:00 AM Sunday for Monday lunch
Order by 9:00 AM Monday for Tuesday lunch
Entree-Only Rush Ordering
Rush Ordering may be available until 9:00 AM on the day of lunch service, but it is not guaranteed.
Important notes about rush ordering:
Entrée options are limited
Availability is first-come, first-served
Rush Ordering has a fee of $1.50. Rush Ordering Fees are always waived for Meal Plan students
Rush ordering may sell out
Once Rush lunches are sold out, no additional orders can be placed (including through Customer Support)
Sides
All sides must be ordered by 9:00 AM the day before lunch is served, and are not available during Rush ordering.
Can I Order After the Deadline?
Yes — limited Entree-Only Rush Ordering may be available, depending on availability.

Rush Ordering has a fee of $1.50. Rush Ordering Fees are always waived for Meal Plan students
Once your order has been placed on the website or app, it is guaranteed
Once sold out, orders cannot be placed
Editing a lunch
Lunches must be edited or updated by the regular ordering deadline of 9:00 AM the day before lunch will be served.
To edit a lunch, click on the lunch you would like to edit, make your changes, and then click "order".
Cancellation Deadlines & Credits
Standard Cancellations
To receive full credit for a cancelled lunch, the order must be cancelled online by 9:00 AM the day before lunch is served.
To cancel a lunch, click on the lunch you would like to cancel, and then click "cancel lunch".
Lunches cancelled after this deadline are not eligible for credit if you are not on a Meal Plan.
Meal Plan Cancellations & Sick/Vacation Days
If you are enrolled in a Choicelunch Meal Plan and cancel a lunch online by 9:00 AM on the day of lunch, the cancelled lunch will count toward your sick/vacation day credits.
Sick/vacation day credits appear on your next meal plan invoice
These credits are only available to Meal Plan subscribers
Field Trip Cancellations
Choicelunch calendars are updated for known school holidays and minimum days. We are not notified of individual class field trips.
It is the parent or guardian’s responsibility to cancel the lunch before the cancellation deadline in order to receive credit for a field trip day.
Sick Child Cancellations
We understand that children may become sick unexpectedly. However, by the morning of lunch service, meals have already been prepared and delivered to schools.
For this reason, lunches cancelled on the day of service are not eligible for credit unless you are using a Meal Plan sick/vacation day.
Emergency Lunches
Emergency lunches cannot be ordered by parents through the app or website. They are available upon request at the lunch counter on a first-come, first-served basis.
Important details:
Emergency lunches are sent to schools in limited quantities
Availability varies by school and by day
Emergency lunch entrees have an additional fee of $2.00, Emergency lunch fees are always waived for Meal Plan students
Emergency lunches are first-come, first-served
Availability is not guaranteed
Because supply is limited, we recommend always placing your order on the website or app to ensure your student receives lunch. Emergency lunches are not guaranteed to be available.
