What Are Meal Plans?
Meal Plans allow you to be auto-billed for lunches based on your family’s needs.
Benefits include:
5–15% savings for the first student
An additional 5% savings for a second student
10% savings for the third and additional students
Built-in flexibility for sick days, vacations, and schedule changes
Optional automatic ordering with Choicelunch AI
How Meal Plans Work
When you sign up for a Meal Plan, you choose:
Number of lunch days per week
Entrée size (regular or large)
Entrée type (regular or premium)
Number of sides
Optional premium drinks (such as smoothies or sparkling water)
Your Meal Plan covers the cost of lunches, but lunches still need to be ordered each week unless you enable Choicelunch AI.
If a lunch covered by your plan is not ordered or is cancelled within the allowed timeframe, it will count as a Sick/Vacation Day credit. Our system will issue all sick/vacation day credits on Friday afternoons, prior to the next week's billing.

Optional: Automatic Ordering with Choicelunch AI
After signing up for a Weekly Meal Plan, you can enable Choicelunch AI to automatically place lunch orders for you each month.
This option is ideal for families who want consistent ordering without needing to place weekly orders manually. You can also edit AI orders after they have been placed for ultimate flexibility.
Flexibility: Changing or Canceling a Meal Plan
Meal Plans can be changed, upgraded, or canceled during the school year. This allows you to adjust your plan as your schedule or needs change.
To avoid using Sick/Vacation Days unnecessarily, we recommend updating your Meal Plan in advance when you know your ordering needs will change.
How Meal Plan Billing Works
Weekly Billing
Meal Plans are billed weekly on Fridays for the upcoming week of lunches.
Billing is processed in advance.
School Holidays & Schedule Changes
You are only charged for days when lunch is available.
School holidays and early dismissal days are not billed.
If fewer lunch days are available in a week, you are billed only for the available days.
If a school is closed for an entire week, no charge is applied for that week.
Viewing Invoices
To view copies of individual weekly invoices, click on "account" in the lower left corner of the screen, and then click "billing". From here, scroll down and click "View Meal Plan Invoices". If you have any questions about your invoices, please email support@choicelunch.com.
Sick/Vacation Days Explained
Sick/Vacation Days are credits included with Choicelunch Meal Plans. They provide flexibility when a student does not need lunch due to illness, vacation, or other absences.
How Sick/Vacation Days Work
If a lunch covered by your Meal Plan is not ordered, no action is required.
If a lunch is ordered, you may cancel it up to 9:00 AM on the day of service for Meal Plans.
The unused lunch is counted as a Sick/Vacation Day.
A credit for that lunch is applied to your next weekly Meal Plan invoice.
Sick/Vacation Day Limits by Plan
1 day/week plan: 2 Sick/Vacation Days
2 days/week plan: 4 Sick/Vacation Days
3 days/week plan: 6 Sick/Vacation Days
4 days/week plan: 8 Sick/Vacation Days
5 days/week plan: 10 Sick/Vacation Days
Credits are applied on Friday afternoons prior to meal plan billing for the following week.
Managing Your Plan to Avoid Using Sick/Vacation Days
You may change your Meal Plan at any time.
Example:
If your student is usually on a 5-day plan but you plan to order only 2 days the following week, update your Meal Plan to a 2-day plan by Friday of the prior week. This ensures you’re billed only for the lunches you plan to use.
Meal Plans During the Summer
Choicelunch Meal Plans pause during the summer months while school is not in session.
Your final weekly billing occurs on the Friday before the last day of lunch service.
Meal Plans resume when the new school year begins, typically in August or September. Please keep this in mind if you do not intend to begin the year with a Meal Plan.
You will not be billed for weeks when school is not in session.
