Choicelunch built our own scanning technology w/ QR code functionality to scan the right food into each oven on a daily basis to ensure that schools get what they need on a daily basis. Each hot lunch has a color label on the entree to depict the type of meal (Red = Chicken Tenders, Green = Spaghetti w/ Meat Sauce.
The lunch bags (with sides, condiments, utensils) have a label with your child's name on it and the label also references the 'color' lunch that should be pulled from the oven on a daily basis.
We do send a certain amount of "Emergency Lunches" to each school in case of a child who forgot their lunch at home, a dropped lunch at the counter, or if lunch was accidentally handed out incorrectly. It is possible for these to 'sell out'.
While scanning technology has greatly reduced the possibility of mistakes, we recognize that they can still happen. We also know how difficult it can be if you have 50-150 students coming up to the lunch counter at once to receive their lunches and it is possible to pull the wrong color in a high-stress situation. No matter how it happened, we want to make it right.
If your child didn't receive a lunch that you ordered:
e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org with your child's name, school, and date of the occurrence so we can take care of your account accordingly.
